Justice Thomas is a good man, and I'm proud to have him serve on our Supreme Court. I would love to meet him one day. Joe Biden presents poorly though. I didn't care for his line of questioning. He really is a political hack. (I hate to say negative things about people in this forum) I need more work.

Religion and relationship with Christ, two different things... Dont you fail to have a relationship with God (through Christ) because of the wrangles within the four walls of the church... You have no excuse. And if that is not your thing, hey, it's still fine. There's something called free will. Just keep on keeping on. No need to bring other people down because you don't agree with their beliefs... It has been said that the very moment a man finds himself, he finds God. This captures the story of Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, a man of deep faith whose youthful struggles with racism caused that faith to be shaken but who later returned to it, more deeply and more resolutely because of his great character and refusal to settle for anything but truth. The new film "Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words" will be released in theaters nationwide Jan. 31, exquisitely timed with Black History Month. But this is also a time of great tensions and divisions in our nation, with race continuing to be one of the main issues dividing us. Thomas published his memoir, "My Grandfather's Son, " in 2007, which tells the story of his journey from beginning life dirt-poor in Pinpoint, Georgia, to his confirmation as U. S. Supreme Court associate justice in 1991. Now filmmaker Michael Pack delivers Thomas' remarkable story to us in his own words, bringing to the screen exclusive interviews with Thomas and his wife, Virginia Thomas, in which they speak their minds. TRENDING: 'Anonymous' White House 'insider' identified and will soon be gone, says DiGenova Judge Thomas strikes a strong personal note with me because I know well what he means when he talks about being attacked for being black by not acting and saying what is expected from a black person. I was in the early days of my own work in policy activism when Democrats brought Anita Hill into Thomas' confirmation hearing. I helped organize a large group of black pastors to come to Washington from around the country and demonstrate support for him. When Branch Rickey, president and general manager of the then-Brooklyn Dodgers, recruited Jackie Robinson to be the first black in Major League Baseball, Rickey warned Robinson that he would be challenged to focus on the game and not react to the racist jeers that would come not just from the stands but from his own white teammates. "They'll taunt you and goad you, " Rickey warned. "They'll do anything to make you react. They'll try to provoke a race riot in the ballpark. " Justice Thomas had to stand the same test. Except this time, it was not whites trying to drive a black man off the field. It was liberals, black liberals and white liberals, trying to drive a black conservative off the field. Thomas describes what he had to endure: "(Y)ou're not really black because you're not doing what we expect black people to do. " And with regard to what the left was trying to achieve with Anita Hill, he said: "People should just tell the truth: 'This is the wrong black guy. He has to be destroyed. '" This circles back to Thomas' similarities with Jackie Robinson. Both men drew their strength from their deep faith to stand with integrity in the face of merciless attacks. Thomas talks about the restoration of his Catholicism after his youthful rebellion and black radicalism: "I asked God, 'If you take anger out of my heart, I'll never hate again. '" Anger and hate are just other forms of slavery. Other people are controlling you. Thomas became a free man once his faith was restored. Thomas is now the most senior associate justice on the Supreme Court and has become one of America's great conservative elder statesmen. His opinions over these years have already created a legacy of finely and rigorously reasoned jurisprudence, faithful to the core principles on which America was founded. When Thomas was sworn in, after enduring what no man or woman should have to endure in his confirmation hearings, in his speech he alluded to Psalm 30, which reads: "I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.... Weeping may go on all night, but joy comes with the morning. " What better way to pay tribute to America and black history than going to see this important new film?

At least it was not a circus. people acted civil... I dont hear Dam Kamala Harris booker and Blumnthaul talking out of order like children. Judge Thomas is a Republican. All 'Democrat' senators at the hearing, including Joe Biden (who was chairman of the inquisition) were softer on her. Senator Spector (a Republican) was tougher and more probing, with pointy questions, which were very pertinent, and Senator Hatch as well. Both were respectful though throughout their questioning. We love Clarence Thomas. A great man and great Justice. An honorable man who has proven his integrity. Those who persecuted him were and remain evil. God continue to bless you, Judge Thomas. You are dearly loved and admired. He was the right guy at the right time. I'm convinced his grandfather unknownly prepared him to stand up to this high tech lynching. Biden already served 19 years at the time of this hearing. Our founding fathers never intended to have these lifers.

Uncle Tom. I believe Clarence Thomas. Anita Hill is a liar. DAMN. I respect Clarence even more now. I think this will be an important film even for those of us who might not agree with his rulings or judicial philosophy. He is a great interview from what I've seen and isn't afraid of being candid. I think its important to see well meaning public officials in their most human light. Trying to do the best they can and realizing that they are imperfect.

Clarence Thomas was the Covington kid before there was a Covington kid... I remember how vicious the leftists were, no documentary or replay of the hearings could possibly convey the tactics, The press were totally in the tank against him. If they hadn't already gotten away with the borking of Bork, the GOP may not have dug their heels in to deliver this man through. Just wait until the replacement for RBG is announced by Trump, You will never hear such weeping and wailing and moaning and gnashing of teeth. * its disgusting that he using the black card to justify his actions as if we dont have enough on our plates with foul play in system. Hes a pathological liar and predator.

The church must find it in ' its heart' to move away from culture and norms which are of no value to the salvation of Man in the light of God will. Leaks to the same democratic playbook... The timing of this Monumental Documentary could not be Better. Justice Thomas is the personification of what most All of us Aspire to be. yet rarely Become I have the deepest Respect and Amiration for this I am Humbled just to learn his Story.

Absurd the full court lynching that was allowed by the politicians.

God bless justice Thomas! May he live a long and healthy life.
I bet if he's a liberal, the media would have made the documentary trailer their top breaking news of the day. There's so much bias.
'Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words' offers important lessons from the Supreme Court justice's life; director Michael Pack and former Thomas clerk Carrie Severino weigh in. Of the 114 individuals who have served as justices on the U. S. Supreme Court, only two have been African-American. Thurgood Marshall was a liberal. Clarence Thomas is a conservative. CURTIS HILL: WHY GEORGE WASHINGTON IS THE PRESIDENT WHO TOWERS OVER ALL OTHERS IN STATURE AND IMPORTANCE But each rose from humble beginnings, overcame racial discrimination and made giant contributions to the causes of freedom and justice in America. Their stories, taken together, prove yet again that we Americans ultimately share common goals across our ideological and political divides. Certainly, we are experiencing a point in our national history when we desperately need the reminder that we are a stronger nation when we as a people respect one another despite our differences. I’m a conservative, but despite the generally liberal worldview embraced by Marshall, I remain eternally grateful for his work not only as a judge but as a civil rights champion in preceding years. As an NAACP lawyer, Marshall won 29 cases before the U. Supreme Court in the 1940s and 1950s. One of those victories came in the landmark Brown v. Board of Education case, which established in 1954 that states could not racially segregate public schools. That ruling overturned the shameful 1896 precedent, Plessy v. Ferguson, which allowed state-sponsored segregation so long as authorities strove for “separate-but-equal” facilities. Following his years as a lawyer, Marshall in 1961 was appointed to become a federal appeals judge by President Kennedy. Then, in 1965, he was named the nation’s first black U. solicitor general by President Johnson. Two years later, LBJ nominated Marshall to serve on the U. Supreme Court. As a justice, Marshall defended states’ use of affirmative action — the policy of giving preference to minority applicants in college admissions and employment. “For it must be remembered, ” he wrote in 1978, “that, during most of the past 200 years, the Constitution as interpreted by this Court did not prohibit the most ingenious and pervasive forms of discrimination against the Negro. Now, when a state acts to remedy the effects of that legacy of discrimination, I cannot believe that this same Constitution stands as a barrier. ” We are experiencing a point in our national history when we desperately need the reminder that we are a stronger nation when we as a people respect one another despite our differences. Conservatives decry Marshall’s penchant for “judicial activism” on this issue and others, and on this score they have a point. Whatever one’s views on abortion and capital punishment, for example, I disagree with Marshall’s findings that the Constitution guarantees a right to the former and forbids the latter. Nevertheless, Marshall pushed America to examine its collective conscience, and he consistently labored to improve the lives and prospects of those who historically had been wrongly oppressed. His legacy as a freedom fighter should be appreciated by conservatives as well as liberals. Like Marshall, Clarence Thomas also fought for civil rights in the years before becoming a judge. He served as chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from 1982 to 1990 before becoming a federal appeals judge in 1990 and joining the U. Supreme Court in 1991. FILE -- U. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas - REUTERS In his own battles for truth and justice, however, Thomas has opposed judicial activism at every turn. “Each time a judge sidesteps or manipulates the law to achieve his or her desired outcome, ” Thomas recently said, “the rule of law suffers and is undermined and eventually compromised. ” To this end, Thomas has opposed the sort of quota-based affirmative action that Marshall supported, explaining that “reverse discrimination” is not the key to unlocking the door of opportunity for minorities. “In my mind, ” Thomas once wrote, “government-sponsored racial discrimination based on benign prejudice is just as noxious as discrimination inspired by malicious prejudice. ” CLICK HERE TO GET THE OPINION NEWSLETTER Unlike those who believe the Constitution’s meaning is flexible enough to change with the times — thereby allowing for modernized interpretations — Thomas rightly believes federal courts should always adjudicate cases based on the original intent of the text. More from Opinion When asked once at an Indianapolis luncheon about progressives’ belief that the Constitution is a “living, breathing document, ” Thomas replied dryly, “Well, the copy I have is inanimate. ' While Marshall and Thomas represent different perspectives on such important matters, both have used their legal careers to fight for freedom — one fighting from the left, one fighting from the right. Taken together, their legacies both have made positive impacts upon U. jurisprudence. Both have worked to improve the lives of their fellow Americans by pursuing truth, justice and civic virtue. Speaking in the context of foreign policy, President Kennedy once said, “Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belaboring those problems which divide us. ” CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP Such wisdom could just as easily be applied domestically to America’s political discourse. Both Marshall and Thomas have made lasting and profound contributions to the life or our nation. When we appreciate this reality, then perhaps we also can appreciate that Americans of quite different political viewpoints can work together for the common good. Something tells me this will not get the publicity that the RBG documentary did. And its a shame. Now that is powerful. Hes trying to tell you Scalia was murdered. Hey? Is the the Joe Biden that was groping those teen age girls a while back? Thats the same sexual deviant Joe Biden right. This is the moment Andrew Breitbart jumped the Democratic fence and started exposing their the leftist Media lied and distorted stories, even footage. Would have been great for him to see the outcome- he died young, but he left an indelible mark, a legacy.

I believe the former administration assassinated a Supreme Court justice! How despicable is that.
